Is it acceptable to not have a flower girl or ring bearer?
I'm getting married in June and neither of us have any young children that could be a flower girl or ring bearer. I've been to weddings where the best man just held on to the rings, but what do I do about the lack of a flower girl?
How could I go about getting flowers on the aisle? Should I put them beforehand, omit them, or have someone else do it?
first of all - it is entirely acceptable to do without the f.g. and ring bearer. if you don't have anyone close to you then don't worry about it , you certainly don't want to hire strangers or the neighborhood kids. the people in your Wedding Party are supposed to be people you are close to.
actually you should check with your church/venue and see if they even allow flowers to be scattered anymore. flower girls generally don't throw petals anymore as many churches have stopped this practice due to the cost of cleaning - flower petals really make a mess and clog up the vacuum cleaner.
and you are absolutely right - the best man can hold the rings til the appropriate time in the ceremony.
